From apples to oranges to AI. Not as different as you might think.
ABOUT
SEDRA-Federación de Planificación Familiar is a non-governmental organization that works so that all people can exercise their right to decide freely about their sexuality and reproduction and the right to have access to the services they need. In addition, SEDRA-FPFE provides sexuality care services, with special attention to women and young people.

(A) Project Challenge
When SEDRA requested us to design three sexuality guides for the Women’s Institute, we aimed to represent the diversity of gender and sexual identities authentically, avoiding stereotypes. Our goal was to steer clear of clichés and unconscious biases.

(B) CREATIVE CONCEPT
This project is a great example of how AI can be useful. Inspired by nature’s idiosyncrasies, we generated evocative and imaginative visuals of plants and fruits that invite reflection. Plants were the perfect theme, as they can be asexual, hermaphroditic, or exhibit various forms of reproduction, allowing us to represent all types of identities and sexualities without falling into clichés or discrimination. The fruits, with their diverse shapes, were also a key source of inspiration. These images were designed to be as suggestive as they were visually appealing, enhancing the reading experience. Initially, we focused on creating suggestive flowers for the women’s guide and playful fruits for the youth guide. Over time, this evolved into more sophisticated botanical designs for the professional guide.
